In a recent address, President Bush has called to stop the growth of U.S. greenhouse gas emissions by 2025. According to Bush, this will require investments in nuclear energy and energy-efficient technology. He also credits the new fuel economy standards of 35 miles per gallon by 2020 and state incentives for increasing renewable power.
Bush will be participating in a leaders meeting that will be held in conjunction with the next G8 conference in July. The meeting will focus on international cooperation among private firms and governments in the sectors of power generation, auto manufacturing, renewable fuels, and aluminum and steel.
