TRI Region 10 Snapshot

The 2006 TRI data are in, and only one of the four Pacific Northwest states posted pollution reductions from 2005. Washington shows a drop of more than 6 million pounds (lb) in toxic chemical releases.

State data breakdown of total on- and off-site releases:

  • Alaska. Facilities reported 667,622,176 lb of chemicals released, up from the 548,692,097 lb released in 2005.
  • Idaho. Total releases in 2006 were 67,231,417 lb, a slight increase from the 66,911,198 lb reported for 2005.
  • Oregon. Facilities reported 23,856,697 lb released, a negligible increase from the 23,136,573 lb released in 2005.
  • Washington. Releases in 2006 totaled 29,497,739 lb, down from the 35,856,854 lb released in 2005.
