OSHA Challenge: Safe Drivng
The Center for Auto Safety and Public Citizen have released a National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) report that finds hands-free cell phone use is a distraction to drivers.
The report included which of the following statements:
1. 25% of crashes are distraction related.
2. Drivers who use hands-free phones use them more frequently and for longer durations.
3. The NHTSA recommends that drivers not use wireless communication devices, including text messaging systems, when driving, except in an emergency.
