President Obama recently issued a White House memorandum to the heads of executive departments and agencies to officially renew his promise to reinstate the integrity of science back into government activities.

To do this, Obama directed political officials not to "suppress or alter scientific or technological findings and conclusions." And he expects these findings to be made available to the public.
Also, the memorandum establishes responsibilities to the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy for recommending actions to the president that "guarantee scientific integrity throughout the executive branch."
