EMCA Wins Award

The Environmental Manager's Compliance Advisor (EMCA) has been honored with an APEX 2005 Award for Publication Excellence.

EMCA was one of just 49 printed newsletter Award of Excellence winners out of 661 newsletter entries.

With close to 5,000 entries overall, this year's competition was exceptionally intense, according to John De Lellis, editor and publisher of Communications Concepts, which runs the competition.

APEX Awards are based on excellence in graphic design, editorial content, and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.

The panel of judges for APEX 2005 included De Lellis, Carolyn Mulford, Senior Evaluator for the Publication Evaluation Program and Senior Writer & Editor of Writing That Works, Christine Turner, Contributing Editor of Writing That Works, and Bill Londino, Consulting Editor of Writing That Works.

"This award is an honor for BLR and for EMCA editor Bill Schillaci, who tirelessly searches out key environmental information that will save our subscribers time and money," said Clare Condon, managing editor of BLR's environmental products. "APEX has confirmed what we felt to be true--EMCA is indeed the environmental manager's smart choice for news and compliance solutions."

In addition to the award for EMCA, Business & Legal Reports received 5 other APEX awards, including a Grand Award in the category of special publications for its FLSA Wage and Hour Self-Audit Guide. BLR also received Awards of Excellence for the Safety Training Tips ezine, the Cal/OSHA Compliance Advisor newsletter, the HR Manager's Legal Reporter newsletter, and the Safety.BLR.com website.
