Aboveground Storage Tanks
 Regulatory Analysis
There is no single comprehensive regulation governing ASTs. Federal laws that regulate aboveground tanks include the Clean Water Act (CWA), the Oil Pollution Act (OPA), the Clean Air Act (CAA), and Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA)--depending on the substances contained in the tanks. Also, many states have stringent requirements for ASTs.
