RCRA requires hazardous waste generators and TSDFs to report in March of every even-numbered year on the quantities, type, and management method of generated hazardous wastes and hazardous wastes received from off-site during the previous calendar year. EPA uses the information to plan and develop regulations and to ascertain whether its regulations are having the desired effect on hazardous waste management. Some states use the data for planning, fee assessment, compliance monitoring, and enforcement.
