Regulatory Analysis

Landfills are facilities where solid (nonhazardous) or hazardous waste is placed in or on the land as a means of permanent disposal. All hazardous waste disposed of in a landfill must meet federal land ban rules. Landfills must be permitted and comply with facility-specific standards.
