Hazard Communication

National Summary
HCS (also known as HazCom, or "Worker Right-to-Know") is one of OSHA's most significant workplace regulations. Broadly, its purpose is to ensure that employers understand and inform employees about hazardous substances in their workplace, the health risks associated with them, and how to take protective action. HCS is a "performance"-based standard--which means that it is particular about the objectives employers must achieve, but flexible about the specific methods that are used to achieve them.
