National Summary
Facility recordkeeping laws have been passed in every jurisdiction. This ensures that environmental officials have access to documentation in certain critical areas of regulation. Refer to this section for a summary listing of federal recordkeeping requirements for air, hazardous and solid waste, OSHA, and water and a checklist. EPA requires that records be kept for three years, while OSHA demands a five-year retention period. It is recommended that inspection records be kept for the life of the facility.
