Exposure Limits

National Summary OSHA has developed 470 Permissible Exposure Limits (PEL) for various forms of approximately 300 chemical substances. The PELs provide numeric standards that determine how long a worker may be exposed in the workplace to a threshold amount of an airborne contaminant without adverse effects on health. To achieve compliance, a facility must determine then implement administrative and engineering controls when feasible and require use of PPE and other protective measures when necessary.       View sample documents Read the complete analysis
