State:
Hazardous Waste Tanks

National Summary

Hazardous waste tank regulations cover the entire tank system, which includes the ancillary equipment and containment system. A tank is a receptacle for holding hazardous waste. Its most distinctive feature is that it is stationary when in use. Tanks and ancillary equipment must have a secondary containment system that includes a leak detection system. Secondary containment and leak detection systems allow leaks from the tank to be detected while providing a secondary barrier to contain releases.
