Property Rights
National Summary
Government's use of eminent domain, illegal taking of property under the U.S. Constitution, land-use restrictions in place for environmental benefits--all of these are legal issues that can adversely affect a property owner's right to do as he or she wishes with property. Affected entities can range from individual homeowners to multinational corporations, and, often, restrictions on property use are in the interest environmental protection.
