EPA has proposed to strengthen the nation's sulfur dioxide (SO2) air quality standard. Power plants and other industrial facilities emit SO2 directly into the air.
About $1.7 billion will be distributed in 2010 to producers under the Conservation Reserve Program (CRP), announced the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
